Your field journal stays local.
ReefRoamer is operated by MEET KAI LLC, a Puerto Rico limited liability company. This notice explains what happens to information when you use the free ReefRoamer beta.
Your logbook and Passport
Outings, sightings, notes, and Passport progress are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. ReefRoamer does not create an account or automatically upload that field-journal data to our servers. Clearing site data or changing browsers can remove it.
Shortlist requests
If you request a Puerto Rico reef shortlist, we receive your email address, your message and optional trip details, and your phone number only when you ask for a call. We also receive basic source and campaign information attached to the page so we can understand where the request came from and reply to it.
Basic measurement
We use Google Analytics to measure page views and a limited set of product actions, such as opening the map, viewing a place or species, applying a filter, and logging an outing or sighting. Product events use a rotating anonymous session identifier and stable catalog IDs. They do not include your precise coordinates, outing notes, email address, raw search text, or other free-form journal content. We do not use advertising cookies. Our server may also retain standard security logs such as IP address, request time, browser information, and requested URL.
Use, sharing, and retention
We use submitted information to answer your request, operate the service, prevent abuse, and understand product performance. We do not sell your personal information. We may use service providers that process data for hosting or communications, and may disclose information when legally required. We keep submitted information only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
Your choices
You can use the Fish Passport without submitting the shortlist form. You can erase your local journal using your browser's site-data controls. To ask about, correct, or delete information you submitted, email connor@kaicalls.com.
